I always turned inward to begin with. If your speaking of Christianity, it should be exactly as the apostles indicated turn towards Christ. The path is cramp and narrow not simple like JW's make it out to be. That is if you decide your Christian. IF not I think you have to become strong from with in then slowly lean some on good friends and family.

Where have you turned to?
by Robert7 ini am very curious, since i am myself trying to figure out where to turn to, if anywhwere.
(i am still debating if i am truly an atheist at heart and religion in general turns me off at least as of now) where have you turned to since you left the wt?
i would imagine that many people who became witnesses had spiritual needs (which is ironic why i am feeling atheist, lol) but have you gone to other churches, stopped going to church, become atheist, etc?

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES RULES, RUINED JA RULE'S CHILDHOOD
by WTNightmare00 inrap star ja rule blames his familys jehovahs witness roots for ruining his childhood.. .
the im real hitmaker reveals he was never allowed to celebrate birthdays or christmases growing up - and even playing with other children was a problem for his strict grandparents, who helped raise him.. .
as a result, the rapper, real name jeffrey atkins, goes overboard when his children celebrate birthdays and special occasions.. .

Are you guys serious? He is one of the worst MC's of all time. This is the same guy who wanted people to write in to MTV cause there were to many homosexual positive shows on.

What is being "worldly"
by Burger Time inyes i know what the jw definition is of being worldly, but seeing people who grew up and their stories it got me thinking; is worldliness just as bad in house as out?
as an example, dating.
ok almost everyone i know still did the same thing worldly kids did when they dated only you had to take one little extra step to get some alone time with your sweetness.

well I guess I should have clarified a bit more, are their social situations any different really then "worldly" ones? They still have drama, there is lying, stealing, contempt, sex, drugs, gossip, and did I mention gossip? So if the same worldly influence curropt from within why not just call it human? I know it's to control, but still seems like this could be a good argument. I believe Franz brought up this point in ISOCF.

Describe Your Sense of Humor
by minimus ini think posting on a discussion board can tend to come across in a certain way, personality wise.. i'm the type of person "in real life" that is usually considered quite funny.
i have a very quick wit and i can usually disable someone rather quickly with a facial expression, smile or definitive body language.
of course, you can't see those things here but you might notice a person's humor (or lack of it) by how they post.. so what tickles your funny bone?

On a side note, does anyone thing his childhood might be in relation to his MC name? like Jehovah's rules?

Pedophilia & The Witnesses - South Africa needs to Know.
by LouBelle inhi all i know that you guys have probably discussed this to death so i thank you in advance!!!!.
i have (through this site) been exposed to this horrible fact - i must say i had never heard of anything like it before (well amongst the jws anyway).
i've gone to the link here www.watchtowerdocuments.com and have been onto silentlambs.com.. the thing is - being in south africa no one and i mean no one has been exposed to this news about what is happening in this faith.

I would think the first step would be mobilizing the ex witnesses in your area. They can give more insight on rumors/problems that sort of thing, then go from there.

The BCS Bowl Extravaganza Is About To Begin. ARE You READY?
by freydi inwell, now that a bunch of sports writers and computer geeks have determined that the outcome of the national champeenship has been decided, it will be interesting to see if hawaii will go undefeated and then watch with bated breath as twice beaten lsu is crowned #1. whew..gets me all doubled up with emotion.
of course this has made all the other bowls irrelevant, imho, and i'm not even a fan as it seems more entertaining to listen to the talking heads and analysts than it is to actually follow what's going on down on the gridiron.
kind of like listening to weather forecasters see how close they can come to actual results, like last night predicting 6-12 inches of snow but only 3-4 actually fell.

Well what I am wondering is, do people react the same in the U.S. to it as they do there? I know you said no one is desensitized but would you get the "it's just the way it is here" defense? Or you might get the, "that happened in the States not here!" reaction. It hits home hard in the States because it's in our own backyards, I am sure if the scandal happened in Europe no one would care much here in the States.
